The end of AOIFE
After 13 years of European cooperation and networking in the area of feminist education and research, AOIFE has dissolved itself because the new association ATGENDER has officially come into existence.
The AOIFE Council is grateful for the support of all AOIFE members ever since the Association of Institutions for Feminist Education and Research in Europe started in 1996 and urges all AOIFE members to become a member of ATGENDER.

- The start of ATGENDER

ATGENDER has officially been founded on 30 September 2009. Under the presidency of Harriet Silius from Abo Akademi University (Finland) and Iris van der Tuin from Utrecht University (The Netherlands), the Board of ATGENDER has started working. ATGENDER aims to strengthen the field of Women's Studies, Gender Studies, feminist research, women's rights, gender equality and diversity; to make a difference on policymaking on research and education; and to foster exchange between the academic community and civil society.

Please visit the ATGENDER website for more information.

AOIFE has co-organisedthe 7th European Feminist Research Conference in Utrecht, The Netherlands, 4-7 June 2009. The conference 'Gendered Cultures at the Crossroads of Imagination, Knowledge and Politics' was attended by more than 700 people.

AOIFE has handed over the organisation of the European Feminist Research Conferences to ATGENDER.
