Gender Studies Research

Gender Studies at the Faculty of Humanities, Utrecht University, is combining various activities spanning education and research. It draws faculty across a range of fields and disciplines. The teachers and researchers at Gender Studies are currently teaching and researching in affiliated and over-lapping fields and disciplines, including history, media and communication, philosophy, post colonial studies, anthropology, literature, cultural studies, visual studies and science and technology studies. The faculty consists of active researchers, they write books and articles, are holding conferences and presenting at international workshops.

Publications in refereed - top - journals are important for reseachers in the gender area. The European Science Foundation made ranking lists for various research areas, including gender - the so-called European Reference Index for the Humanities (ERIH).
